Charge

This committee exists to support and advise SSB regarding its services to individuals who are deaf/hard of hearing and blind/visually impaired. This committee will provide input to the Customer Satisfaction & Goals and Priorities Committee and the full Council for consideration in the development of annual goals and priorities in conjunction with SSB and will monitor those goals and priorities throughout the year.

The product of this committee must include an annual report to the full Council containing specific strategies for increasing and improving services to individuals who are deaf/hard of hearing and blind/visually impaired.

Membership

With the approval of the SRC-B, the Council chairperson shall appoint members and a chairperson for this committee. Not all committee members need be members of the SRC-B. This committee shall consist of no more than seven persons. Every effort shall be made, to the extent possible, to include at least each of the following:

Two Council members, one of whom is the representative of the deafblind community,
Two members to be culturally deaf, and prefer for the majority of the members to have a dual sensory loss,
Two members who represent the needs of school-aged transition deafblind students.
