Whether you have textbooks, business, training, vocational or leisure materials, we can convert it for you in the format that you need. Our E-text services are provided free of charge to Minnesotans statewide who have visual impairments and other disabilities that make it difficult to read print.

Apply for Services

Before taking advantage of the exceptional transcription services, you need to complete and return our application for services form (PDF) establishing your eligibility for services.

Your eligibility must be certified by an appropriate "certifying authority" as listed on the form. Also, you must submit a signed customer agreement copyright form before services can be provided.
Ordering E-text and Large Print

In addition to the core content, books, magazines, and other print materials may contain items such as advertising, indexes, bibliographies, and so on. We will transcribe materials according to your specifications. The order form includes space for you to indicate your preferences for what you would like to have included in your transcription. Our “What is Transcribed” document lists our standard practice for inclusion for each of these types of transcriptions:
- Human-narrated audio textbooks
- Human-narrated vocational materials
- Human-narrated leisure/book club materials
- Human-narrated organizational/business materials
- Human-narrated magazines
- E-text and large print materials
"What is Transcribed" document - This version presents the material that is easy to follow visually, but more difficult when reviewing with a screen reader.

"What is Transcribed, Screen Reader Friendly" document - Presents the material as a list.
