DEED Holds Open House for Startups Oct. 10

The Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) offers startups assistance ranging from technical support to financing programs.

Join us for an open house at DEED. Meet representatives from the Offices of Small Business Assistance, Business Finance, Business Development, Small Business Development Centers, and the Minnesota Trade Office to learn about the many programs DEED offers that may help you with your business.

Registration is requested, but not required.

DEED is among the sponsors of this year's Twin Cities Startup Week, scheduled for Oct. 8-13. DEED also will participate in the Entrepreneur Expo at the Minneapolis Central Library on Thurs., Oct. 12. Karen Francois, Assistant Commissioner for Economic Equity and Opportunity, will open the Entrepreneur Expo. Minnesota Venture Conference — October 25

DEED is also a sponsor of this year's Minnesota Venture Conference, Minnesota’s premier event for investors and entrepreneurs. Hundreds of participants will gather for a day of knowledge-sharing, networking, and pitches from some of Minnesota's most promising companies. DEED Commissioner Shawntera Hardy will moderate a morning panel of startup leaders, including Lee Jones, president and CEO, Rebiotix; Lou DiLorenzo, COO, Bright Health; Matt Matsui, SVP Products and Strategy, Calabrio; and Clay Collins, co-founder and board chair, Leadpages.

Startup companies can also apply for the Entrepreneurial Showcase. Showcase participation is free for qualified registered companies and includes a one-page profile in the event book, a one-minute introduction on stage, and information table.
