K-12 Connect Forward Initiative

Overview

Launched in 2016, the Minnesota K-12 Connect Forward Initiative is a joint partnership between the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), the national non-profit Connected Nation (which assumed responsibilities from EducationSuperhighway upon its sunsetting in 2020), and representatives from the MN Education Technology Network, MN School Board Administrators, MN School Superintendents, MN Rural Education Association and the MN Assn. of Charter Schools. Together, we are working to ensure that all students and teachers in Minnesota have access to scalable infrastructure, high-speed affordable bandwidth, and ubiquitous access for distance learning. The group meets monthly to share information and ideas to assist in making progress towards achieving the goals.
