Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) - July 2023

The unemployment rate ticked up one-tenth of a point to 3.0% in Minnesota in July, on a seasonally adjusted basis.

The number of unemployed rose to 93,555 workers, and the number of employed grew to 3,015,899. The labor force grew to 3,109,454 workers, and the labor force participation rate ticked up one-tenth of a point to 68.5%.

The U.S. unemployment rate ticked down to 3.5% in July, on a seasonally adjusted basis. The labor force participation rate held at 62.6%.
