Opioids - The Minnesota Initiative (OMNI)

Opioids - The Minnesota Initiative (OMNI) project is a workforce development initiative which seeks to address the state's opioid crisis. OMNI is fully funded by the United States Department of Labor opioid crisis National Health Emergency Dislocated Worker Grant, in the amount of $1,368,421. An initial award of $800,000 will support disaster-relief jobs and provide employment services to eligible individuals.

Goals and Services

The goals of the program are as follows:

  • Provide employment and training services to individuals who have been directly and indirectly impacted by the opioid crisis.
  • Provide training that builds skilled workforce in professions that could impact the causes and treatment of the crisis.
  • Create temporary disaster-relief employment that addresses the unique impacts of the crisis in affected communities.
  • Facilitate community partnerships to mitigate the negative impact of the epidemic.

These services are available for eligible individuals across 46 counties throughout north, central and southeast Minnesota.
