DEED Commissioner Steve Grove is hosting a Facebook Live event at noon on Friday, May 31, to talk about the Minnesota Legislative session and DEED’s budget. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions.

“While no one at the negotiating table got everything they wanted, I’m very pleased with where our budget ended up,” said Commissioner Grove. “I can honestly say there’s not a single thing in it that I don’t like.”

DEED secured funding from the Minnesota Legislature for programs and initiatives in three priority areas:

• Helping the state’s most vulnerable job seekers through opportunity grants, mental health employment programs and Vocational and Rehabilitation Services programs.
• Empowering the Minnesota economy to prepare for the future through Launch Minnesota, the Angel Tax Credit and other programs.
• Investing in Greater Minnesota by extending high-speed broadband and child care economic development grants.
