DEED Seeking Unemployment Insurance Division Director

7/9/2019 10:00:00 AM

Commissioner Steve Grove

The Department of Employment and Economic Developing (DEED) is looking for a talented executive to lead Minnesota’s Unemployment Insurance (UI) Program, one of the largest benefit programs and tax authorities operated by the State of Minnesota. UI provides a temporary, partial wage replacement to workers who become unemployed through no fault of their own. The program provides a critical service for Minnesotans who lose their jobs and need to stabilize income. It also helps employers maintain an available, skilled workforce.

This is a phenomenal opportunity for someone who is a systems-thinker, enjoys managing a complex team, and thrives on mission-oriented work. We are seeking candidates with a willingness to drive UI’s mission and vision across DEED. The director will be responsible for meeting all federal, state, and agency-specific statutory requirements with a focus on customer service, productivity, and quality standards.

UI has a strong customer focus and we believe in adapting processes to their needs. Our primary customers include up to 300,000 unemployed Minnesotans at any one time, 130,000 tax paying and reimbursable Minnesota employers, DEED senior management, and the U.S. Department of Labor.

If you are interested in applying, or know someone who sounds like they would be a great fit, check out mn.gov/careers and search for Position #33753. Applications are due by Friday, July 19, 2019.

If you value excellence, trustworthiness, and treating people with care and respect, we would love to have you join our team at DEED!
