In today’s ceremony, Governor Walz gave remarks and laid a ceremonial Remembrance Day wreath in honor of 27 Minnesotan soldiers and sailors killed in WWI who are buried at the site.

This comes after Governor Walz honored Veterans Day in Minnesota on Thursday, November 11th by highlighting the importance of expanding access to mental health and readjustment care for Veterans. Additionally, he recently announced that 13 Central Minnesota countries have effectively ended Veteran homelessness.

The trade mission to the United Kingdom and Finland will occur from November 13-19, 2021, with stops in the major business centers of London and Helsinki. day1-trade-mission1The mission is focused on increasing state exports, promoting Minnesota as a premier destination for business investment, developing new business opportunities, and strengthening existing ties.

Governor Walz is joined by First Lady Gwen Walz, Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development Commissioner Steve Grove, Minnesota Department of Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen, and representatives from the Minnesota Trade Office. The state officials are joined by businesses and organizations within Minnesota’s medical technology, food and agriculture, environmental technology, and educational sectors.

The trade mission is building off of the recently-launched “Build What Matters” campaign, housed at joinusmn.com, which showcases the compelling reasons for doing business in our state.
